My name is Ferenc Szigeti, and I'm currently rowing at Csepel Evezős Club in Hungary. I am a senior in high school and was born on (07/15/2005 ). I have been rowing for 9.5 years now. I’ve been recognized nationwide for my dedication to rowing and academics, with a 4.92 (out of 5.00) GPA last year from Budapesti Fazekas Mihály Gyakorló Általános Iskola és Gimnázium located in Budapest which has been awarded the best hungarian middle school title from 2013-2018, and in 2020, 2022, 2023 by HVG. Also I recently completed a TOEFL language exam, in which I achieved 108/120 points.
I am a six-time national champion of Hungary both in open and lightweight boats, and currently I am on the National Senior/U23 team of Hungary due to me having achieved the best U23 time in the open-weight category, and got 4th place overall in the country, in our initial qualifying race in October.
I got third place with my teammates in the 2022 U19 European Rowing Championship in the coxed four, and in the 2023 U19 World Championships I came in at 11th place in the men’s pair, and in the same boat we came in at 11th place at the U19 European Championships too. We also got second place in the Bled International Regatta. In 2022 I also took first place in Jeunesse Cup in coxed four.
My best official, and unfortunately quite old 2000m erg time on the C2 machine(05/02/2023) is 6:36.4. I am 5'9 and weigh 160 pounds. My most recent but unofficial erg time is 6:17 on the RP3 machine (06/23/2023) with the standard setting.
This year I’ve been awarded the „Magyarország Tehetsége” (Hungary’s Talent) title, due to my achievements in 2022. Next season, it is likely that i will be participating in the U23 European Championships in either single scull or double, and whether I am going in the lightweight or the open-weight category is yet to be decided.
