Personal Statement
Rowing has been one of my hobbies and passions ever since I started in the fall of my freshman year. From the very beginning I have been trying to push myself as much as I could to gain speed and make my team faster. However, as my school did not have a team, I had to join two different clubs in two years (both fell through at the end of the spring season). Out of concern of being part of a never-ending cycle of “club hopping,” I decided to change school for my junior year in order to pursue rowing with a stronger and more stable team. Despite finding myself on my third team in three years, I was able to quickly pick up the team dynamics as well as the different coaching style. At B-CC, my new high school, I seat raced myself to the 1V quickly and after being on the team only for a shortened year due to covid, I was elected as co-captain for my senior year.
I believe that my experiences and commitment will help me thrive on a college team as I know how to adapt to a new setting quickly, give my best, and strive to bring teams closer.
