Personal Statement
I have been rowing and training for rowing year round since the Summer of 2020. I was lucky to find a sport that was open during the early days of covid (but with face shields!) that allowed me to combine many of my interests and passions including the outdoors, being on the waters around Long Island and New York, team-oriented and technical activities, and sports where I was in control of fulfilling my potential. Since I was introduced to the sport in 2020, I have made strong friendships and bonds with my teammates and coaches from Manhasset Crew. I enjoy feeding off the energy and environment both in the daily grind of practices and the festival atmosphere of the regattas. The feeling and sound of a clean powerful stroke on the water keeps me striving to be better. I look forward to continuing to improve over the next 2 years with Manhasset Crew and my goal is to to row in college.

- ActivitiesManhasset Adaptive Sports, Lead Volunteer September 2021 - Present Volunteered over 60 hours through 25+ Friday night sessions to support young people with disabilities in the Manhasset community so that they feel included in the strong sports culture. Play games, teach sports and develop 1 on 1 relationships with the students. Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) October 2022 - Present Selected through a competitive application and interview process as 1 of 35 students to represent Manhasset's chapter of Athletes Helping Athletes. Attended three half-day training sessions and in small teams pushed into 6th grade classes at Munsey Park Elementary for four 2-hour sessions. Taught students lessons about building character, sportsmanship and making positive, healthy decisions such as choosing to be a substance free student athlete. Boy Scouts of America - Teddy Roosevelt Council, Troop 71 Plandome March 2018 - Present -Star Rank Candidate. 2022-2023 voted to the position of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. Responsibilities include organizing agenda, leading Troop meetings, and training new scouts -Earned 31 merit badges ; received 12 of 14 Eagle required badges including Communication, Personal Fitness, Disabilities Awareness, and Citizenships in the Community, Nation and World -One of 3 members nominated by the adult Scoutmaster and completed the National Youth Leadership Training Program 2022. Independently camped for 5 days at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River, NY and received over 30 hours of classroom leadership training in a nationally recognized program North Hempstead Country Club, Caddy June 2023 - Present Carry golf bags for members and guests; provide advice, course knowledge and enthusiasm to ensure positive experience for golfers; clean equipment; assist with golf course upkeep.
