Personal Statement
My name is Anthony Feteira. I am part of the class of 2019 at Clarkstown South High School in West Nyack, NY. I am interested in rowing at the college level.
I have been rowing for 6 years, since I was eleven years old and I am looking forward to continuing my passionate rowing career in college.
I currently row for Rockland Rowing Club, sitting in a sculling quad, sweep both sides, and have acquired the flexibility to row in numerous positions. During this winter break, I attended a training camp at the Texas Rowing Center in Austin, Texas, for my 3rd year in a row. Rowing has been a significant part of my life for years, starting when I was just in the 5th grade, eventually growing into the athlete I am today. Although faced with personal adversities throughout my high school career, I have been able to maintain my status, allowing these challenges to push me further to excel in my sport.
I am currently the captain of my team, leading my teammates and driving them toward their goals throughout the year-round season. I am 6 ft. 1, weighing 160 pounds, currently a junior at Clarkstown High School South. My GPA is at an 80 average, and I recently took the SAT earning a score of 1300.
This current Spring season,I reached my goal competing at Nationals in Sacramento, Cal. Along the way, I rowed in other regattas, such as Ironman and CRASH Bs in preparation to qualify, placing well with my boat.
