I am a very motivated, disciplined, and gritty highschool athlete. I grew up playing basketball until the ninth grade when I was sidelined with a foot injury that sat me out for a year and a half. Through that I was able to fight through and rehab to get back to athletics, and my mom suggested I give rowing a try my junior year. Immediately I fell in love with the challenge sport and took to it. I was able to get moved to the varsity squad half way through my novice season. Going through my injury taught me how to deal with adversity and built grit that I carry with me through every workout, practice, and race. Even though I stayed rowing later than my peers, I’m determined to work everyday to catch up to speed. My goal is to make the national team and row in the Olympics eventually.
