Personal Statement
My name is Barrett Sexton, I am a sophomore at Elmore County High School in Alabama. I love soccer and have been playing for about three years. Before soccer I spent about 3-4 years doing Taekwondo and earned my second degree black belt. I am interested in playing soccer at the highest level as I would like to play as long as possible. I want to study Journalism in college and I keep my eye on colleges with substantial academic as well as athletic challenges. I love to play guitar and ukulele as well as playing soccer and entertaining people in general. I practice soccer up to eight hours a week every week including a fustal team I play for and practice on my own. I am in a good, fit condition as I participate in athletics class at my school in addition to soccer. I have around a 3.4-3.5 GPA and love to study Science and English. I took a year of Spanish my freshman year and I am in Latin I right now. I plan to finish the next two courses of Latin over my last two years of high school. My skills in soccer can always use improvement, but my background in Taekwondo makes me extremely dexterous with my feet as well as my hands. Taekwondo also helped with reflexes and flexibility, which helps in the goal as well on the field. I feel like if I keep on the path that I am on that I can set myself apart from other athletes that you will see.
