My main goal is to play for a college or university while pursuing my education in health sciences and/or accounting and later play professionally. To reach this goal, I harness the knowledge of my coaches, as they offer honest critique of my game, and provide plans for improving it during training sessions and game reviews. I believe in setting small goals with measurable and reachable targets and monitoring them to measure my progress and performance. I value hard work, respect, honesty, persistence, learning, and accountability. These values drive my decision-making process as I seek to be a better person, soccer player, and citizen.
My calm and patient personality, coupled with my ability to understand the tactical and technical part of the game of soccer, make me stand out on my team as strong and effective defender. I am good at shooting from a distance and on target, passing accurately, closing in fast to hold, deny strikers opportunities to score. I am aware that being a left-footed defender poses issues for right-footed strikers. When playing left-back I am good at moving fast on the left side of the field and crossing the ball on strikers heads. I am constantly working on improving my communication skills with teammates and being aware of my surrounding for quick decision-making.
My big-tall size, coupled with speed, gives me an advantage when defending against big-fast moving strikers. I have been playing at the premier youth league in the province of Alberta, Canada (Alberta Youth Soccer League) for more than three years. This is the highest youth league in Alberta and Canada. The highlight of my youth soccer career was when I was selected to play center back position for a U14 boys Whitecaps academy team that was to represent the province of Alberta at a Vancouver Whitecaps Combine in Spring of 2020.
