My name is Nicholas Colavita and I am currently a junior at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona graduating in 2021. I have played on my high school Varsity soccer team since my freshman year and play for the Real Salt Lake Arizona club team. I am a versatile, creative, and technical player, who plays Attacking Midfield.
I started playing soccer at the age of 4. My Dad introduced me to the sport and began teaching me certain aspects the game whether that be through footwork and technical ability, or through reading the game and developing a soccer soccer IQ. My Dad played Division 1 soccer for Michigan State University, traveled to Italy to play professionally, and later came back to the states to finish out his professional career. Due to his success, over the years he has taught me everything he knows and molded me into the player I am today.
Even though I basically have a personal soccer trainer that lives in the same household as me, I still make time to practice and learn on my own, which I believe is where you can learn the most. My Dad, Grandpa, and I built a little soccer field in our back yard where I practice almost every day. In fact, I am starting to upload some of my personal sessions onto my youtube Channel.
In college, I hope to major in something that puts me in the best possible position to get accepted into Physical Therapy School, and ultimately become a sports physical therapist. At Desert Mountain High School in my hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona, I take the most rigorous classes available. In my first two years I was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, as well as several AP and Honors courses. This year my schedule is just as rigorous with mostly AP and honors classes, while still making soccer and my college dream a priority.
I believe I have what it takes to be successful in college due to my hard work, on and off the field. I also work a part-time job at In N Out Burger where I continue to show my leadership and strengthen my work ethic.
Overall, I believe I am different compared to many other recruits due to the fact that I am self-driven, motivated, and determined to improve in every aspect of my game in order to not only make it in college, but to strive above the rest.
