Personal Statement
I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and started playing first competitive basketball and then recreational soccer since I was five years old. When I was 7 years old my Dad joined the US Army and we move to Fort Bragg, NC. I continued playing both sports at the recreational level. In the last game of the Soccer Spring Season I and my oldest brother Diego were playing and we got the championships for our team Galaxy. At the end of the game, we were approached by Coach Geoffrey N’Goran who invited us to play in the competitive level with his club Mid-Carolina Soccer Club and later with Triangle Futbol Club (when I was 11 years old). He was the Coach of both U-13 teams. Coach Geoffrey was an Ivory Coast National Team Player and also played in France and Belgium. I moved to Seville, Spain, and joined Spain Soccer Academy during my Junior year, in 2018. In my second year at this program, I had the great honor of being coached by Enrique Romero and Juan "Juanito" Gutierrez, Spain National Team former player and 2008 Euro Cup Champion. I consider that my technical skills and playing style were developed under the great leadership of my coaches. After seeing how my skills were improving and how well I was contributing to my team, I decided this is the sport I see myself playing. I think I am a good candidate for your team because I have the experience of working with high demanding Coaches since I was just a kid. I have a very good technical vision and team chemistry when I am on the field. I consider myself a coachable athlete, I have discipline, I take practices and my nutrition seriously and I have the commitment for my teammates.
What makes me different from the rest is that I started playing soccer and basketball since I was five years old. I am very good at soccer and during my formation years, I developed my technical ability and controlling skills. One of the skills that I understand is important as an athlete is to have the “vision” of knowing what to do with the ball, where and when to pass it. That stands me out from the rest of the players. Another quality that makes me different is the desire to keep on playing no matter what the score is. I don’t quit and I keep giving my best.
