The place where all my problems go away would have to be the soccer pitch. This place has been a second home to me for many years. Whenever I am upset or have something troubling me, I would grab a soccer ball and get lost in the art of the sport. My dream was to continue to play in college after high school. I have been playing since I was 5 years old. In that time I have achieved my initial dream of playing in college at Lake Tahoe Community College since 2017. With each year I increase my soccer abilities and my leadership skills.
I have been met by several challenges while playing community college soccer. The first being when I was playing spring ball in 2018 I had proved myself to my coach and I was now a starting defender. Sadly at one of the indoor practices I tore my Achilles tendon. It was a complete tear and required surgery as well as a full year of rehabilitation. I worked very hard to come back to 100%, it was not an easy year recovering from a devastating injury like that, but I did it!. In February 2019 my college coach resigned. We had a new coach that did not know me or my skill level. I was just returning to play in April of 2019. In June of 2019 we found out that our school had been put on probation/ sanctioned for something our previous coach had done. This meant no playoffs for this season. I made the decision to stay with the team I had committed to in 2017.
I am the first person in my birth family to go to college, I was adopted at the age of 2. I have an academic interest in Music and Business . School has always been challenging for me, but I have found with hard work and persistence I can overcome most academic challenges. I have found my academic strength in Music and business. This year I have been nominated into The National Society of Leadership and Success. I am working hard to be inaugurated into this honor society.
I am ready to move on to the next level in my soccer and academic "career".
