My name is Zak Stout, a 2020 graduate from Edison High School in Southern California.
My high school team went 20-0-1 last season, taking 1st place in Sunset League. I’m a highly technical player with a great soccer IQ who makes the players around me better. I usually play a 4-3-3 with one holding midfielder in the traditional #6 role. I play most games in that position but spent time in all three midfield positions and as a true #10 when our front three resembled more of a 4-3-1-2. I currently play for the California Rush Soccer Club – Boys 02’.
I plan to study Sports Broadcasting/Communications. I would like to become a Sports Commentator after graduation. I just finished an internship for my High School CIBACS (Center for International Business & Communication Studies) program with Kent French (Host/Producer) of the Anaheim Ducks and Angels Baseball. We just had our FasTrak project where I got a 94/100 and won the award for having the best interviewing skills during a simulated group interview for a job at Verizon Wireless.
Academics have not always been an easy thing for me but attending a 4-year college has been a lifelong goal. I work very hard at keeping my grades up in school. My family and teachers have helped push me to success, but I must continually work at it.
Off the field I am interested in many different activities. I'm in my 2nd year of studying American Sign Language in school. I work part-time at a local surf shop. I volunteer as an assistant coach and referee for my little brother’s soccer team. I’m involved in my church's Bible Study Group.
I'm pursuing options to play college soccer because I believe in my ability to be successful regardless of my obstacles.
I see myself as a well rounded individual but soccer is the one thing that has taught me discipline, perseverance and has kept me grounded.
My club coach is Daniel Walpole his email is [email protected] and his phone number is 657-250-0408.
