When I started my first year at a club in 7th grade, I felt as if I had the potential to be a successful player. Strikers FC is a great club with amazing professional alumni. I was ready for 8th grade with a former Cal State Fullerton coach but it was until the summer that I realized that I would have to move to New York due to financial issues. When we moved I felt demotivated and unsure about myself. During 8th grade, I had helped the varsity team become the champions of Manhattan. My club team had also won the city cup. Then the next year I had moved to the varsity team of the high school of NYC Lab School. I felt as if I can learn how to be a great player. My club team had also won the indoor soccer tournament. It was that same year that my parents told me that we would move back to California so that I can get better education. I felt sad because I had just made new friends but I had no choice. When we moved again I felt demotivated again but I realized that I made the same mistake twice. There was no reason to feel demotivated so I had a feeling inside of me that wanted to succeed. Our high school team almost went undefeated in season and we won the league. Then junior year came and I felt more motivated than ever. I tried out for a flight 1 team and I was accepted. Our team won the Strikers FC Classic! Towards the spring of Junior year I was the only player in my team invited by my coach to participate in a college showcase in Las Vegas with the discovery/NPL team. Unfortunately I was not able to attend the showcase because of the spread of the corona virus... (To be continued)
