Personal Statement
I pride myself on being a great team player and doing whatever I can do to help my team succeed. Three years ago, my club team needed a center back and my coach asked me to move to that position for the season. Even though it was not my favorite position, I did it because the team needed someone to fill that role. It was tough at times but I know I am a better and more versatile player as a result of that experience.
I think one of my main strengths is my ability to communicate with my teammates and keep them focused and in sync with each other both in training and in games. I was named captain of my club team last year and I’m hoping to play that role for my high school team once I’m an upperclassman. I believe my leadership skills and character will be an asset to any college team.
Academics are very important to me. I attend an academically challenging high school and I have worked hard to do well in my classes while playing three sports, working two jobs and volunteering in my local community. I think my strong work ethic will serve me well at the next level when I need to balance college athletics and academics. I believe I can have a great impact on your program and I look forward to talking with you about it!
