Personal Statement
I am obsessed with Soccer. In elementary and middle school I would rush home every day after school and watch every Champions League, and Spanish La Liga game. My dad and I would then analyze every play after the game to figure out how the team that won made it happen. This gave me a naturally good ability to read the field and place myself in the right place at the right time. Much of it is conscious because I like to understand and analyze but a lot of it is now intuitive.
When the World Cup would play I never missed a game. My favorite player when I was young was Arjen Robben. I practiced for hours a day until I perfected his directional turn and left foot shot. As a righty who became ambidextrous, while always looking to produce a goal, this became my signature move. To this day I have a practice of waking up early on Sundays to be on the field by 9am to practice my long-range shot. In middle school I became famous for scoring from half field (shorter fields). Today, my long-range shots remain deadly.
I am one of the biggest on the field - I see more, header more, and if I lower my weight no one can move me, if I shoulder my way it’s very hard to stop my momentum, but I still possess little man skills, just like Ibrahimovic (many coaches compare me to Zlatan). I led my high school team in assists with 11, and led in goals with 20 while receiving offensive player of the year. Our team went undefeated that season and won the title.
I achieved a GPA of 4.6 in high school with mainly AP classes while taking online college courses at Oregon State University in parallel to soccer. This shows that I can take a demanding college schedule and still excel in soccer. I run an apparel business I founded where I design and sell my own clothes and am an amateur music producer. At a young age I taught myself photoshop and began freelancing as a graphic designer. Some of the tutorial videos I’ve made and the music I’ve published have together reached hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. I also founded and lead the entrepreneurship club at our school.
I am a very happy person and very stable emotionally. Most people argue that I’m funny and I naturally take on responsibility and leadership. I know how to calm other players down and lift them up when things are tough. Morale in a team is critical in my opinion. The social aspect of a team is very important to me. I am a very social person and a full team player.
I am the youngest of five outstanding siblings and they are a very strong support group for me.
