My goal in college is to find out who I am, and what I am made of. I think college is a time where a lot of people find out who they are internally, and what they want to do in life. Although I do feel I am a very well rounded person, I do think there are always ways to improve and learn new things about yourself. Coming from parents who have lived in the Bay Area for almost their whole lives, and have gone from a place of moderate poverty to the middle class I have developed very good communication skills. With those skills I have created in depth relationships and became good friends with people of a variety of backgrounds. This will help me to fit into a team and bond with the teammates, but also on a college campus with thousands of kids I have never seen before who all come from very different and unique backgrounds. I would also like to say that I aspire to find a strong passion in something other than sports because all though I would love to play professional soccer, I need a plan B that insures I would still be happy and successful financially if I fail to make it with soccer. I have always been very smart when it comes to the game of soccer, and being a fairly natural leader, I feel coaching soccer could be a possible option for a plan B. Though I would also like to add that my soccer smarts also translates to my game on the pitch.
