Hi my name is Dylan Lemesh, I currently play goalkeeper for the Slammers FC ECNL in my favorite sport (soccer or futbol). I am getting ready to enter my Senior year (which I never thought would come) at Martin Luther King High School located in Riverside, CA. I will graduate in 2020 and afterwards hope to attend a competitive soccer program while majoring in engineering or computer science.
I take my academics seriously (once I realized every grade counts) and hope to keep improving my overall GPA my Senior year at King High School. I want to not only attend a top notch university as an athlete, but also as a scholar.
Helping Hands, Children's Fund and placing flags out in honor of our fallen soldiers at the National Cemetery here in Riverside, CA are great opportunities for me to give back to my community and country. I also enjoy giving keeper lessons to my brother’s (10) recreational team during his soccer season. I admire my little brother because he is an amazing hockey player and we live in So Cal.
In my off time from soccer and school (which seems to be never) I love to play chess, read books, and put things together with my hands from scratch. I take things apart and try to create different creations. I hangout with family who is crucial and instrumental in my life. However, my college decision may take me away from comfort zone, I feel change is great for individualism.
I find the game of soccer strategic like the game of chess, especially playing the goalkeeper position. When to attack, when to fall back and where to place defenders and midfielders for defensive coverage. The game is constantly moving and the strategy changes on the fly. I love every aspect of the game. Physical or mental, I take every challenge head on and I don't like to lose.
After college, I would like to continue playing soccer in a professional soccer league. I would maybe someday head back to school and attain a masters in engineering. My ultimate goal is to play the highest competitive level of soccer while obtaining a highest level of education.
