It is often difficult for one to discuss themselves, and it is compounded by speaking of what makes you different from the other recruits. I will do my best in providing you insight into my life through my character, athletics and academics and allow you to judge me from the other recruits.
If I were to list my top character traits, I would reveal I am active, ambitious, charismatic, competitive, efficient, caring and trustworthy. I have been told by several coaches and teachers that I am a natural born leader.
My mom is from Mexico City and from a young age her father took her to the Stanford campus on the weekends, so she could be exposed to the college campus and lifestyle. For her, it assisted her in setting her collegiate goals which she accomplished by graduating from Loyola Marymount. She has instilled in me the desire and passion for a higher education. I was accepted into Bellarmine College Preparatory for high school and choose to leave my community of friends and commute an hour each way to school so I could challenge myself both academically and athletically.
I enjoy challenging my mind and body on a regular basis. I have treated academics and athletics the same from several years. I compete against myself and others in the classroom and in the athletic arena. I continually push myself to work on my weaknesses, while perfecting those things I do well. At the same time, I know how to work with classmates and teammates to identify goals and work together to accomplish them. I am currently student-athlete and my goal is to become a collegiate-athlete at a college which is a perfect match for both of us.
