Growing up soccer was always a huge part of my family’s live. Ever since I can remember, my family and I would always attend soccer games whether it be at the pro level or watching my sisters play in high school. Although soccer has always been around me, it wasn't my first sport and I wasn't in love with the beautiful game yet. So there will always be that regret in my life that I didn't fall in love with the game when I was younger. Even though I started to play competitively later then others, I have aspired to play my best in goal. Whether it be on the club level or the collegiate level. Ever since I found that love and passion for soccer, I would much rather be playing and kicking the ball around then doing homework or any type of school work. Even though academics haven't always been my strong suit, I still have a huge support system to push me to do better in my academics. My family has always motivated me to do better and also, a program at school named AVID. AVID is a program that helps you access resources you didn't have access prior too. For example, it taught me to be organized, gave me access to the tutoring I needed, and gave me vital information about colleges and how to apply. I'm someone that always wants to be pushed to be my best whether it be on the field or in the classroom. Although I have struggled in school it never stopped me to be my best. I am not afraid of failure because I know there is always something to learn from it. I have learned to adapt with different teams and get along with my fellow peers because I am an opened minded person, but when it comes to games, I always push my teammates to give their 110% on the field and off the field. I am someone who wants to learn something new all the time, whether it be a technique or styles of play. Being captain of my High School team has taught me a lot about leadership. You have to be a respectable role model on and off the pitch. You always have to be there for your team and push them to be their best. If you show your team enough respect they'll show you that same amount of respect back. I always want to lead my team to victory and if we fail to show that, i'm sure to always push them back on top. I am excited to keep my education going because it will be a huge accomplishment for me and my parents who have gone through a lot to give me a better education. From leaving their country to sacrificing everything to try to put food on the table.
