I have played soccer with the Real Colorado Soccer Club in Highlands Ranch CO since I was 7 years old. In the past eleven years, soccer has afforded me many successes and lessons. In 2018 after my team, 03 Olympico, won the President’s Cup State title for Colorado, We then traveled to Utah to attend the Farwest Regionals President’s Cup tournament. We competed in and won 6/7 matches, unfortunately, we lost in a heartbreaker in the semi-finals to the team that eventually won it all.
This past year I was invited to guest play at the President’s Cup Farwest Regional tournament in Norco California with the 02 Olympico team from my club. Real Colorado has been praised for its ability to develop young athletes and for the manner in which those young athletes and teams achieve success at all levels of competition. My development and training with the Real Colorado Soccer Club has contributed to my athletic success outside of the club environment. This past fall I made Varsity for my High School team as a Sophomore and within the first three games, I earned a starting position. My team ended up receiving the 7th seed out of 31 teams in the State playoff tournament. We had a strong playoff run but ended up losing in the quarter-final match. Grandview High School is known for its strong tradition of academic excellence and athletic success, prior to our appearance in the quarter-final match this year the men’s team lost in the State Championship game last year. I believe we will continue to make strong runs at a State Championship throughout my remaining two years at Grandview.
As I know you understand, soccer is a team sport. If you ask any of my present or past coaches and teammates, I believe that they would tell you that I have an exceptional ability to see the field and be able to read situations. They would also say that no one on the team is more dedicated than I am and that my work ethic is second to none. I believe in the power of team in every sense of the word. I am at my best when I am supporting and encouraging my teammates to be their best. I know my role both individually and as a collective member of the team. I am a big believer in practice makes perfect so whenever I have a challenge with some technical aspect of the game I work on it until I perfect it. This approach to the game has resulted in enhancing my footwork and speed on and off the ball. I believe my ability to make quick decisions and be decisive in my decision making are two of my best attributes.
