Personal Statement
My name is Isaac Vigoren and I live in Centennial, Colorado. I am a senior at Arapahoe High School for the 2020-2021 school year. I started playing soccer when I was 6 years old and I have played year round, competitive soccer since the sixth grade. I have also participated in my high school soccer program. I was able to start every game at the varsity level this last year and earned all league honorable mention as well as academic all state first team honors. In the last few years I have played all defensive positions, with a focus on center back, but I feel comfortable playing as an outside back as well. I feel that I am a fundamentally sound player who makes smart plays without trying to be flashy. I have the ability to play physical and I'm not afraid to go in for a hard slide tackle. I am a great one-on-one defender. I also have great field vision and I can make the right pass that helps maximize our defensive strengths.
Obtaining a college education is important to me and I would love to be able to continue my passion of playing soccer at the next level. I believe my leadership experience both in the classroom and on the field will make me a great fit for a college team and I look forward to the opportunity to reach that goal. I view playing soccer in college to be a privilege. I am willing to put in all the hard work needed to achieve my goals of obtaining a college education, becoming a better soccer player and teammate and a better person in general.
