Personal Statement
I am a dedicated soccer player, but you have probably heard that a thousand times. I would like to prove it to you.
My story started when I told my dad, who was also my coach at the time, that I wanted to eventually play for the USMNT and he gave me a massive wake up call by telling me that I needed to work astronomically harder if I even wanted to dream of achieving that goal. So I did. That flipped a switch in me and since then for five years I have practiced almost every day, whether it's been in freezing cold temperatures on a piece of turf in my barn at 9000 feet in the Rocky Mountains, or in scorching temperatures in Arizona. That dedication has got me to the Olympic Development Program, an invite to the Barcelona Academy in Arizona, and a spot on a New England championship winning team in 2021. I am a very versatile player and can play many positions well, but I have researched midfield play quite a bit and have become a smart player and a student of the game at the outside mid position. Soccer is what gives me the most joy in life and to see my relentless dedication pay off at a great college team would be a dream come true.
Even though soccer is what brings me the most joy in life, I am also a very passionate student and in addition to a heavy course load, I have undertaken my own independent studying and reading into subjects such as quantum physics and philosophy. I am looking for a school where I can make an impact on the soccer field and also thrive academically.
