Personal Statement
My name is Brayden Tester and I am a 2024 Midfielder and Forward and extremely versatile, box to box utility player and I love to compete and play with a lot of physicality! I have competed at many levels of soccer including 6 years in Europe under a former German National Team player, as well as Developmental Academy, ECNL, European Regional ODP, and 5A High School Varsity starter. My Junior year I earned Colorado 5A All-State Team Honorable Mention, 1st Team All-Conference for 5A, and I am a 2X Offensive Player of the Year! Also, I was recently identified by the USL Colorado Springs Switchbacks coaching staff to play for the USL-2 Summer League against current collegiate players. I was also just named ECNL Mountain Conference All-Conference!
I believe what sets my game apart is my field vision, decision making, work-rate, and dominating the air in the midfield with my vertical ability and winning almost every single 50/50 ball. I am a complete Midfielder, able to play the 10, 8 or 6 depending on what the game demands and I can switch the field with both feet confidently and with power. Also, while playing Forward as a true 9, my ability to hold up the ball and score in creative ways while creating defensive mismatches with my speed, runs and constant pressure especially in key moments of the game.
I also challenge myself Academically and just finished last semester with a 3.8 GPA and earned Academic All-State Honorable Mention honors! In addition I serve as a volunteer math tutor for my school's Math Outreach Program.
I love soccer and it has been my love and passion since I first touched a soccer ball when I was three. Soccer is more than just a sport to me, growing up as a military child and moving all over the world, soccer was my way to unite with people and make friends and it taught me to be resilient. I pride myself on always putting the team first, and I take representing the team and my family in a positive way very seriously.
I guarantee you will always get the best from me because of my work rate and hustle. According to Trace stats nationwide for my age group I am in the 98% for Maximum efforts, 97% for distance covered during matches, 94% for top speed, and 90% for minutes played. You can count on me! I look forward to being a positive representative for the University and the Team and proving myself every single day if given the opportunity!
