Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Matthew Ethan Harvey.  I go by my middle name Ethan and most teammates just call me Harvey.  I love playing soccer and want to continue playing into College.  I always knew I wanted to be in the goal and have been playing as a goal keeper since I was 9 on club teams.  I like the challenge it gives me each game to figure out how to best defend the goal against different strikers and playing styles but also allows me to direct and set up our back field. 

I am currently a freshman at Fossil Ridge High School and played for their JV Soccer team this year.  I really liked playing for my school and with other students I go to classes with and having classmates at our games.  It was this season that really showed me what I think it would be like to play during College as I played for both my high school and my club regional team at the same time while keeping up with school work.  I really liked representing my school and would like to do it in college also.

I am very interested in going into Engineering but my main goal is to be part of the US Military.  I have researched and looked into the different branches of the military and would be very proud to attend an academy or be part of ROTC during my college years.
