I've been playing soccer my whole life. My Grandad has actually been the most influential person in my life. My Grandad always pushed me to do my best and was helpful and kind. After he passed and I learned even more about him, I began to work extra hard in school, on the soccer pitch and outside of practice on my own to make him proud. The harder I worked the more I fell in love with the game and I've continued to practice my technical skills almost daily outside of scheduled training and push myself to stay fit during the off season. Through playing soccer I've learned how to lead a team and that if I push myself I can make anything I want happen. My academic goals for the rest of high school are to achieve at least a GPA of 3.4 and become even more involved in extracurricular activities over my senior year.
My college aspirations involve playing soccer competitively and pursuing an education that will lead to a satisfying and interesting career. Right now my academic interests are in business, history, geography, biology, and entrepreneurship. Whichever path I choose, my goal is to maintain a good GPA while playing soccer at the highest level possible.
I think I would make an excellent college student athlete because I have the independent drive to constantly improve in both soccer and school. I'm eager to learn and grow and, as proven already on my high school and club teams, I can be a valuable contributor to a team and a thoughtful leader.
