Personal Statement
My name is Justin Hess. I've been playing soccer since I was four years old. The beautiful game has been an integral part of my life and is a sport enjoyed by my entire family. I am fortunate to be the starting varsity goalkeeper since sophomore year, and a team captain in my junior year. My peers suggest that these opportunities are attributed to my strong work ethic, knowledge of the game, and communication on the pitch.
As a dual-sport athlete in soccer and basketball, I believe the cross-training that helped develop me as a balanced athlete. My communications skills and visualization of play development have been transferrable, allowing me to participate the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. My junior year soccer honors include All-Conference, All-Area and All-State. I have also been a starting varsity basketball player since my sophomore year, where I was the high scorer for our team and was named to the SCC All-Conference team.
My academic goals include gaining a well-rounded education that prepares me well for a career in business. Higher education is a significant part of my post-graduation goals and I take pride in my sedulous pursuit of academics and athletics. I look forward to advancing both pursuits at the college level.
