Personal Statement
My collegiate goal is to major in Athletic Training or Physical Therapy. I want to continue playing soccer at the highest level possible through college because it is the one sport I have loved since I started playing when I was four years old. I hope my skills and abilities on the soccer field will help pay my way through college.
I would be a good candidate for any college team because I have field sense and am a leader on the field. I have worked with the local Parks and Recreation since I was thirteen years old as a referee and coach for the youth soccer sessions.
As I stated, I have played soccer since I was four years old. I played on the Varsity team (typically ninth through twelfth graders) at a private school when I was in fourth grade and scored several times against other schools. I have played soccer year round off and on for many years, including indoor soccer seasons.
What makes me different is that I know and understand that soccer is not all about the individual and that it takes a team to win a game. I have strong "through ball" skills. I have been called "the play maker" by my coaches and team mates because I can set up a play that leads to my team mates scoring. I have scored my own share of goals, but I know it is not all about scoring goals by myself, but rather the team scoring. I know how to maintain a proper attitude on the field no matter the circumstances.
I have had other coaches from opposing teams compliment my playing ability. I have had club teams call and ask me to be on their team (I have not had many opportunities to follow through due to finances).
I believe that I can contribute greatly to making your school have a winning team whose character can be respected in their division.
