Personal Statement
I am seeking a student-athlete opportunity through soccer to further my academic, teamwork and sportsmanship development. I hope to learn and contribute to the field of engineering, grow socially and enhance my playing abilities.
Being a student athlete can be difficult and presents many challenges in terms of balancing a decent work-to-sports ratio. I put a lot of time into my studies at school while also putting in a lot of practice time to soccer to be the best I can. Playing varsity soccer for both The Charter School of Wilmington and for the club Sporting Delaware, This requires effective time management for practicing which I do while maintaining good grades in school. Currently, I have a 4.8/3.9 GPA. I structure my time for academics and balance it well with training for soccer. I put in full effort during practice for school and club and even train hard on my own outside of those practices to get greater results. I am quiet, determined and focused. I always pick out what I can do better and work on that until I improve even more. I want to do well in college academically while being able to enjoy what I love doing more than almost anything else which is playing soccer. I do not have to be the best player on the team. What I do have to be though, is the best player I can be for the team.
