Personal Statement
Hello my name is Jarrett Lafleur and soccer is my passion. Soccer is my favorite sport and I have been playing ever since I was little. Soccer, to me, is not only a sport but it is my life. I put so much hard work into improving myself everyday and thinking that Senior year may be my last year playing scares me. I never want to stop playing and I want to take my game to the next level by playing in college. I want to push myself as far as I can go so that I can constantly improve my mentality, skill and strength on the field. Throughout my soccer career I have followed the saying that, "to become a better soccer player, you have to become a better person." I have received an award for being a tenacious teammate because I am devoted to improving myself as both a player and a person. Even newer to my 2015 season I have begun to follow the acronym C.I.A. which stands for Commitment Integrity and Responsibility. I am a leader on the field and in the classroom. While soccer is always important, school comes first. I devote equal amounts of time to training for soccer as well as studying for school and doing homework. I am able to maintain a 3.54 GPA as well as dual enroll at my local college to progress further through my education. I have been taught that as good as anyone is they can always improve. Using this in my life I am able to always find room for improvement because no one is perfect but I want to be as close to perfect as I can get. No matter who tries to criticize me I always take it in and try to find a way to improve that area. I understand that even the smallest bit of criticism makes you a better player as long as you improve on it. I am an extremely coachable player. I am willing to take any help and attempt to add it to my game play in order to better myself. I am currently guest playing with the Jensen Beach Soccer Club U16 competitive team and primarily playing outside back. I am also a dynamic player and I am able to play almost anywhere on the field. I can also play striker, outside mid and defensive mid, all on the left or right side. I have been taught each position in great detail and I am able to play them well and make smart decisions. It is my ultimate dream to be able to take my game to the next level and play for a college team. Not only do I want to be on the team but I want to be a starter and even though I want to start I am 100% willing to work for my starting spot. Whether I am in practice, in a game, or in the classroom I will give more than 100% each and everyday and no matter who is around no one will outwork me!
