Personal Statement
First and foremost, my goal is to be the first athlete in my family to be able to play in college. In my college career, my aspirations are being able to be a good contributor and helper to whichever team I am on, especially a leader when needed. I have wanted to play college sports since I was 8 years old. It has been a dream of mine for so long. What I feel separates me from other recruits is the fact of which I am good at any sport I do, or at least I try and work to be. I am not really a goalkeeper, I am a defensive player, but due to our star keeper having broken his fibula and tibia, I had to step in for him, and in the two games I've played as keeper, I have managed to only concede one goal, against the top teams in the district, in the District Semifinal which we won to Coral Park 1-0, and then against Columbus in the District Final, which we won by a score of 4-1, brining back a district championship for soccer to gables for the first time since 2014. I am also a swimmer, I've been swimming for four years, in which I have worked hard and tried to achieve my goals to the best of my ability. The swimming I believe has also helped me max my stamina and endurance and reflexes, which is key for soccer and ultimately the goalkeeper position as well. I also believe my openness and public speaking skills help me be able to not only listen to remarks and directions, but sets me up as a better team player.
