Personal Statement
I’ve played multiple of sports growing up ranging from Baseball, Football, Lacrosse, and Soccer. As I played all the sports, I found myself most motivated and engaged by the game of soccer. My passion and my dream is to play and compete at the college level. I started playing travel soccer when I was 11 years old with Ft. Lauderdale Select. When i was 14 years old, I expressed interest in finding a more challenging soccer team. I researched local clubs and found FCBescola Florida in Ft. Lauderdale. the club interest me because of the Barca methodology and the Club was new to my area. I told my mom I must tryout. I made the team and my skills and passion grew even stronger as I was competing at a new level.
The Barcelona coach was pulling 5 soccer players from the team to play at the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) in Costa Brava, Spain. I worked hard and showed leadership. Coach called and said he would like me to join the elite few to travel and play at the MIC. I traveled to Barcelona, Spain and played with their local team there. During the MIC I was scouted by a coach who asked me to join their team Kaptiva Sports in Barcelona. After some deep discussions with my mom, I was able to join the team and move to Barcelona my Freshman Year in High School.
I moved there in July 2017 at the age of 14 years old. I was thousands of miles away from home, but very happy. I learned to play with some of the best players. The soccer academy was downstairs from our school and we practice at 7am then went to school and practice again at 4pm after school. I learned many lessons there such as such as teamwork, sportsmanship and finally leadership while I was there I was training with various high leveled Spanish Clubs such as Cerdanyola Del Valles and Europa.
I made many friends abroad and traveled throughout Europe to play some of the best soccer of my life. I came back to the United States in June 2018 and registered to attend Cardinal Gibbons High School. I made the Varsity soccer team and was a starter. I also joined a travel team Boca United, where I was also a starter.
My next goal, is to graduate at the top of my class and play competitive soccer in College. I have learned so much about myself, about how important teamwork is, and how working hard work will always pay off.
