Personal Statement
From the time I started the third grade until now, two things have dominated my attention: School and soccer. When I began playing against my little third grade friends, it was obvious who was the best player. At least I thought so, until I began playing travel soccer for the local club. This was a big obstacle in my soccer career, considering I sat the bench every game that first season. I was easily the worst player on that team! With hard work and practice, however, I have become an integral component of my club and high school teams, as a starting player every year since fifth grade.
School is another matter. People love what they're good at, and I've always made good grades! I take school very seriously and set it as my top priority. Hard work pays off, and I believe my academics will set me apart from other recruits. I plan to take these attitudes towards athletics and academics, and apply it to the college of my choice, refusing to accept myself as mediocre.
