Personal Statement
I have now won 4 championships at the Division 1 club level and have been a part of the Florida ODP state team for two years. However, I started out playing Division 2 soccer for my local club. After about two years, I had outgrown my club and sought something more challenging. I switched from a Division 2 team to Division 1. It was a big jump, but I continued my soccer career upward. The game was much faster than I was used to; I was out of my comfort zone for the first time since I started, and I enjoyed every moment of it. While the switch may have seemed counterintuitive, I believe that when I'm in a place where I am out of my comfort zone, opportunities to grow will present themselves. With this new team, I took my talents to the next level and obtained a valuable insight into what it takes to achieve greatness. I learned that I must humble myself and take risks in order to grow. I was the best player on my old team, but I know that success is a continuous process and the only way to grow is to continually challenge myself.
My new soccer stature will soon be at the collegiate level. I want to attend a school that will cultivate my academic and athletic abilities. I look forward to being around students who have the same ideals and aspirations that I do. I embrace the standards of many of the top schools in the nation both academically and athletically, and I believe that I would be a great addition to the universities as a dedicated student athlete. When I step on the pitch, I will display my skill and physique showing my work rate, strength, and finishing. In the classroom I will continue to stay focused and maintain my success in all areas of life. I will land running and make a lasting impact on the university and wherever life takes me as I continue to strive for success.
