Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Israel Monsanto, I play for Suncoast Highschool's varsity soccer team as well as travel for Weston Fc. I've been playing soccer since I was seven years old. At that time, my experience only came from soccer camps in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Shortly after I decided to play u8 recreational soccer up until I turned nine. I acquired a love for the game when I scored my first goal. At that moment, I immediately knew I wanted to go further playing soccer. Not long after that, I decided I wanted to take my game further and join a select soccer team. Around this time, I was still nine years old and I had played select soccer for the next two years. That's when my life took a turn. I had moved to Florida at age 10 and began playing what Floridian's called "travel" soccer. It was very different because down in the south, soccer was a lot more aggressive and I needed to adapt to the new playing style. I saw how much more intense the game had become and my competitiveness allowed me to take the challenge and grow to play with more intensity as well. As my time in Florida went on, I started striving for higher levels of the game. This led me to attempting to play DA, which i still strive for today.
Collegiately, I would like to play for a school that would get me a lot of exposure for MLS. I'm always aiming to go further with not only my athletics, but my academics as well. Coming from the top 25th magnet high school in the U.S, I feel as though my opportunities of getting into the college of my dreams are very possible. Overall, I think I'm a great suit for any high performing college because I will always aim higher and work well with others. I have high hopes for my future, in the game of soccer and for what my college degree allows me to achieve. I can't wait on working my hardest to get there.
