Personal Statement
I started playing soccer when I was 5. I fell in love with it because I liked the competitiveness, and enjoyed watching on TV. Messi was my first idol, and Liverpool became my favorite team.
I was 10 when my coach told me I'd been chosen to play with Liverpool's Youth Academy. I remember walking into Anfield for the first time-- it was way bigger that I imagined. I played well. At one point, I did a Maradona in front of former pro Jamie Carragher, who was on the sidelines because his son was playing. I remember he said 'woah!,' like he was was impressed.
The game has taught me self discipline and the importance of character. It has made me a better and stronger person. My work ethic and commitment to training is what sets me apart as a player.
- Currently, I play attacking/holding mid for the Jacksonville Armada FC’s U17 DA team, number #10. I’ve played DA for three years, ECNL for 1, and was an All-County selection as a sophomore.
- My academic goals are still wide open, although I am interested in marine biology and health/fitness generally. I hope college is a time of personal growth and new experiences. I look forward to academic challenges and playing soccer at the highest level.
