Matthew Johnson '24 Recruiting Profile

Hey, my name is Matthew Johnson and I play ECNL for Palm Beach United. Growing up, my dad would always put on the Premier League in the mornings for me to watch. There I gained my love for the game, watching Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta, Toby Alderweireld. I wanted to be just like them.

Obviously growing up I've had the dream of playing professional, but I think it's a lot more realistic to look at the collegiate level. I attend and play for South Fork High School. I also do IB and have a nice 5.35 weighted GPA, academics are always considered more important in my family.

I've always had an up-and-down relationship with the game, but that's what makes it so good. You can't go too long without playing it because it feels like something is missing. It connects you with people all driven by the same passion. And I hope it keeps connecting me with new people.

I can't wait to see what the future holds.
