I first became interested in soccer at a young age, my father has been the person who has influenced me most. He has taught me the importance of working to my full potential, to never give up and to treat others respectfully. He learned this determination by playing semi professional soccer in Colombia before moving to U.S. This is why soccer has been such an influential part of my life. Since I started playing soccer I have learned that I am a persistent and competitive player. I am very analytical on the pitch which helps me recognize the game in different situations and I believe that this attribute helps me to be a great team player. My high school academic goals are to finish with a 3.4 GPA and finish my high school soccer season on a good note. Also, I am looking forward to attending college and pursue a masters degree in athletic training. Personally, I have had two large obstacles to overcome. One, was major maxillary injury at the beginning of my junior season, which had put me out of play for four months. Second, was dealing with three months of liquid diet that caused me to lose extra muscle mass due to the injury. A unique characteristic about myself is that I'm willing to help others on and off the field. Through overcoming personal challenges and still staying diligent proves I would be a great asset to your athletic program.
