Personal Statement
My name is Juan Medina. I am from Bogota, Colombia. I moved to Florida when I was 9, but hadn’t really played for a team before then. I learnt about the club Weston FC, which is where I live, and shortly after tried out. I got picked and began my journey as a footballer. I have played for Weston FC since, and I am going into my last season before college. Throughout the years I have gone from the lower level teams to playing for the U19 Weston MLS Elite. I have put a lot of hard work into making it this far and being able to get more exposure. That would be no different in playing college, I will always make sure to bring something to the table and help my team out when they need me. Whenever I get the chance in the field I will put all efforts into helping my team. I want to grow bigger and be able to experience high levels of play in college. I also wanna get a chance at being seen and scouted to be a Professional Soccer Player.
I would not only be a great fit athletically but also academically. I have always maintained good grades while playing a high level of club soccer and having to miss school for games in different places. I am going to finish my senior year strong. I always stay positive through everything that gets thrown at me and come back stronger. I would love to get a chance to play for a high level team in college not only athletically but also academically. Thank you.
