I have played soccer since I was 4 years old and it is my greatest passion. During the 2006 World Cup, I received a French Jersey and accompanied my dad to watch the games on TV with his friends. I didn't want to take the shirt off. I was well and truly hooked and wanted to be involved in every part of the sport from then on. When I was eight I joined Atlanta Spurs FC a small club started by Paul Smith and Ted McDoughal and played for them until I was thirteen. Throughout this time my coach Saxon Venair instilled in me the fundamental skills I needed to succeed at soccer. I developed as a player and despite my size at this time, was highly regarded as a central midfield player. At thirteen my situation changed and I began playing for Gwinnett Soccer Association (GSA) and moved position to a right back. Playing in R3PL was more of a challenge and a big step up from previous competitions. However, the challenges also brought success and my team won the Georgia State Cup in 2016. As a player, I have always been praised for my positioning, technical ability, and my aggression. I have been able to do the simple things well and execute skills effectively in the right areas. I always look at my performance and evaluate how to improve. I know for example that my long balls need to become more effective, so am working on strength to increase my distance well as on the technique of hitting a long ball. Furthermore, my coaches have always praised my attitude towards the game and my team. I present a positive outlook and strive to be the best I can be both in practice and on match days. I know that without this commitment neither I nor my team can succeed. Presently, I continue to play at GSA in ECNL under Nuno Piteira who has helped me take my game to a higher level. I also represent my school (Atlanta International School) at Varsity Level. I have returned to playing center midfield for school, and I believe this shows my versatility in being able to succeed in multiple positions. Being able to play soccer in college would be the perfect next step for me. I know I can grow even further as a person as a player with the right coaches and atmosphere. I know that being able to balance my college career with the sport I love would be an amazing challenge and a wonderful experience.
