Personal Statement
Hello to all. My name is Godswill Akaeze. I am from Nigeria. Playing College Soccer has been one of the most if not the most important goal for me to achieve when i finish high school. When i came into the country, i was amazed at the standards or form of play of soccer. When i was newly introduced to my new school in sophomore year, i decided to tryout for the school in winter season. Since the coaches didn't know me and my form of play that much at that period of time, I made it to the JV team as a Foward. I scored 11 goals that season. Towards the end of that season, the coaches had been paying attention on me and they called me up to varsity. I was amazed. Junior Year towards winter season,l officially made it to the varsity team. It was a big breakthrough. I gave maximum effort and listening to every session, practice, and games and kept on striving to reach my full potential as a player. At a point in time, there were Region Games we needed to win. I scored 2 goals in 2 games before the season was over due to some certain circumstances. It was a great experience and it helped me to understand the game better.
