Personal Statement
My name is Fousseyni Sissoko and I play soccer as a Center Back/Striker on the Atlanta Fire United U18/19 ECNL Composite team and the Duluth High School Varsity team. I am graduating in 2020 and am interested in studying Marketing in college.
One thing that makes me different from everyone else is that I have a good eye for the game. What I mean by that is I am able to read the game and predict what is going to happen. As a center back, I really value that skill because that skill can lead to a big tackle, and not having that skill can lead to a goal given away. I was also blessed to be born with size. I take pride in winning balls in the air. I am also a great presence to have in the box. I am very vocal, I am not afraid to speak up and I talk to my team. Lastly, I enjoy playing center back because it is risky. What I mean is, a striker could have one hundred chances and make one and still be the hero. A center back can make tackles all game. But, one mistake as a defender can cost you the game. That pressure right there is what makes me thrive.
