Personal Statement
I am a self motivated person who is really passionate about soccer. I started playing soccer in Lagos, Nigeria when I was seven years old and I've loved it with all my heart. As soon as I came to America in the summer of 2013, I was eager to continue my passion for the sport and started looking for a soccer club to play for and joined the All-in Academy team but the search for a more competitive environment made me try out for the United Futbol Academy where i have contributed to my team as a valuable team player. On the field, i try to motivate other team players. I am very flexible and play as a defender( right back) as well as striker ( center forward and right wing) I have the ability to use both right and left feet. Last soccer season, I was the top goal scorer for my team ( U13 Gold). i am looking for an opportunity to improve on my achievements and contribute to the game on a bigger stage.
Academically as well as on the field, i work hard and push myself to be better. i try to improve on my grades especially in the sciences.
I was a part of a Foundation, an outreach which raised money to build a school in Rwanda, Africa. We organised a soccer tournament in the school. I also helped to design the soccer uniforms for the tournament. I volunteer at the Spruill Oaks Public Library in Johns Creek, Atlanta GA. and teach 1st and 2nd graders Sunday school at my local church. I sponsor an orphanage in Lagos, Nigeria. I am also a member of the Future Business Leaders of America Club in my school and I am also a Varsity member of my schools Track team.
Playing Soccer in college will be a dream come true for me and will expose me to greater opportunities where i can be a role model to the up and coming players. Getting into college soccer will be a rewarding experience for me and for my parents who have been very supportive of my dream.
