Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Wema Imoite. I was born in Nairobi Kenya, I've been playing soccer from my childhood . Soccer was my first love ever since I learned how to kick a ball. While in Kenya, my dream was to play for actual team or an actual club. After moving to the United States in 6th grade i tried out for a couple teams and got cut till my freshman year of high school. I worked, trained and was able to make the JV team. It was a difficult season for me since it was my first season playing on an actual team. Through hard work and determination I was able to get on the starting lineup. That season helped me to develop my passion and to maximize my potential. From that time to date I have grown both as a person and I have also advanced my technical ability.
I am a versatile player who can play any attacking or defense position but I love playing in the midfield because I enjoy helping the team on both ends; defensively and offensively. I am a good leader in that I push my teammates to do better and also pick them up when they are down during a game or even after a loss.
Academically, I'm a good student in class who is always open to learn new information while keeping my grades up. After having a rocky freshman year, during the course of high school I managed to keep my grades on a B average which raised my GPA a lot. I am working on raising it during this senior year and it has been going great. Also, I am currently studying for the SAT and ACT which i'm scheduled to take in November and December. My goal is to get a good score in both of them and that is why I am putting in a lot of study time.
I want to enroll in a college that would help me grow as a person, academically and as an athlete. I can't wait to find the right college. I am proud of how far I've come and I am excited to see what is in store for me
