Dylan Thelin '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5’11” attack-minded midfielder who have experienced youth soccer at the very highest level, having guest-played at the CD Leganes-Madrid-Spain Youth Academy in the summer of 2019. 

The one thing I learned more than anything while over there is that I prefer staying in the U.S to play. I can’t wait to contribute to, and eventually lead, a US College Soccer Team while earning my Bachelor’s Degree at a good academic institution with a competitive soccer program. 

I was born and raised primarily in the Southeastern United States, which is also my regional focus for finding a good collegiate fit, both academically and soccer-wise. However, I am open to more distant opportunities should they arise, especially in the northwest.

Despite practicing 3-5 times a week for the past 6 years, with games and tournaments during weekends, I have always focused and turned my attention to school as well. I am currently at a weighted 3.7GPA (97/100), including some AP classes. I am very interested and proficient in math and I’m curious to see what physics has to offer, but I am not sure what I want to major in just yet. 

What makes me different than 98% of all other soccer players is that I am genuinely two-footed and I no longer think about which foot it is I am using. This gives me a lot of confidence and scoring opportunities by opening up more lanes for shooting, passing and dribbling. I have made an immediate positive impact on every team I have joined thus far and I hope to get a chance to do the same at the collegiate level.
