Personal Statement
When I was a child, my dream was always to play soccer at the collegiate level. I've been playing soccer in Hawaii since I was 7 years old. I moved from AYSO to club soccer, and while I enjoy playing against the talented players here in Hawaii, I have also been lucky enough to experience high levels of the game by playing the best players across the nation in tournaments such as Vegas Cup, Surf Cup, and participation in ODP region IV camp. I really enjoy playing soccer for my club and for my high school, and I would like to move on to the next level.
As a player, I give 100% effort both on and off the field, and I'm very focused. Once I put my mind to something I am determined to do it, no matter how much work I need to put into it. I'm also very coachable- I am able to receive constructive criticism and translate this to changes on the field.
As a student, I also give 100% as evidenced by my 4.0 grade point average. Thus far I have been able to continue to concentrate on school while balancing my time playing soccer and taking part in my other extracurricular activities. Similarly, I believe I will be able to do the same while I am in college pursuing my goal of a getting a degree in business or engineering.
