Hello,
My name is Dane Taylor. I have been playing competitive soccer since I was 4 years old. I am a Senior at The High School of Saint Thomas More in Champaign, IL, and am team captain. I am a three-time all conference and all area player. I play club soccer with Central Illinois United’s 2005 team; we play against top competition all over the U.S. In the summer of 2018, I was selected by my club team to travel to Europe to play against the top teams in the world in the Donosti Cup. I have also played with Central Illinois Elite all throughout the Midwest in the Super Y League. I was twice selected to play as a guest player in the Super Y North American Finals at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida; in 2017 with Chicago Soccer Academy, and in 2018 with Northern Virginia Majestics.

Additionally, I attended an Exact Sports Showcase Camp in Indianapolis on 11/29/2020. They gave me a 4.5 star rating as a center back. Below is a link to their Performance Report.

During games and practices, I play with heart and 100% effort. According to my coaches, I am very athletic in all aspects of the game, and I can play any position my team needs me to play. I switched to center back full time in the Spring of 2020 because of my size, athleticism, and my leadership abilities. I started weight training early in 2020 and have put on nearly 25 pounds of muscle. I love to compete in every aspect; I am always focused on getting better every day and making my team better. I improve daily by playing soccer in the backyard with my brother, training with my teammates, individual training with Jorge Lujano (formerly a player with Saint Louis FC), and weight training with my personal trainer 3 times/week. Finally, I am very competitive and I love to win. I started on my eighth grade basketball team and we made it to the Class 2A state finals, I made it to the IESA state track meet my eighth grade year in 2 relays, and I hold a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Because of all of this, I feel I would be a great addition to any men's college soccer team.

- I have worked out with personal trainer Josh Cook for 1.5 years now. In that time, I have added 25lbs of muscle and improved my core strength tremendously. I currently have 9.5% body fat.
