Joe Carli '21 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goal is to attend a highly competitive school athletically and academically that will provide me with a variety of opportunities.  I am a hardworking individual who will work hard to better my teammates and myself on the field and in the classroom. 

I am a 3 year varsity starter for my Geneva High School team who won the IHSA class 4A regional in the 2019 school year and were a Sectional Semi-Finalist that same year.  I have been nominated captain of this years 2020 Varsity team and was DuKane Conference All-Academic award recipient the past 2 years.  I have played with my current club team, Strikers Fox Valley Premier, for the past 6 years and have made amazing friendships and connections with teammates from other high schools around the area.  I play center defensive midfield for both my high school soccer team and my club soccer team but have played several different positions over the past couple of years including attacking mid, outside back, and outside wing.  

During the summers of 2018 and 2019 I had the opportunity to participate in mission trips with the Appalachian Service Project and travel to some of the highest poverty stricken areas of the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia and Kentucky.  During this time we helped families with construction projects on their homes that were desperately needed.  These were such amazing and humbling experiences.  They encouraged myself and a group of my friends to start a service club at school, called Socks Box.  The goal of this club is to collect and distribute pairs socks that are desperately needed to homeless shelters in neighboring Chicago land areas.
