Personal Statement

My name is Antonio Ferraiolo Costa and I am in the Class of 2021.Growing up in a Brazilian family, soccer was in my blood. My dream is to play collegiate soccer and this is what I have been pursuing my whole life.

As a freshman I started on Lake Forest Academy's Varsity team and also start with my club team, FC-1974. As a winger I have to be strong, fast, creative, skillful, and smart on the ball. These are all attributes I possess. On all my teams I try to be the leader, on and off the field. Something that makes me different from others is that I am able to play very well with both feet. Because of this I am able to cross or cut in and shoot from whichever side the coach puts me to play on the field. This season I will be playing both National League and MRL with my club team and I am looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

Apart from soccer I study at one of America's most prestigious schools. At LFA I am on the schools Honor Roll and Academic Performance List. I study hard to maintain my high GPA. In addition, I have had the opportunity to live in the USA, Brazil, Switzerland, and Holland. These experiences have helped me to become fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.  At my school I have had many opportunities to help the community. I helped host a halloween trick-or-treat for children who live in rough neighbourhoods. I also go to food pantries and help at the local catholic church.

As I have said to play collegiate soccer has been a dream of mine since I first saw a soccer ball. I have been pushing myself everyday to achieve this goal.

  • Starter - I had a good MRL season with my team. Netted three goals and assisted three times. I was able to find teammates through crosses in the box numerous times per match and was able to get a scoring opportunity each game. The second half of the season was much better than the first as a team.
