My name is Ryan Raihle. I have played soccer for 14 years. I immediately fell in love with every aspect of the game, and my passion has continued to increase with every year. I have two great hopes for my future, which are to go to a respected college and to continue to play soccer at a high level. I realize the effort and determination needed to succeed and achieve these goals. I am focused on challenging myself both in the classroom and on the field.
I just completed my Junior year at Oak Park River Forest High School. I live in Oak Park which is the first suburb west of Chicago. While I was able to continue playing various games and events during this past year during Covid (which you will see in my Fall 2020-Winter 2021 video), I was really excited to finally be back to my high school season in March (which is covered in my Early Spring video.) I was honored to be chosen captain of both the Sophomore and JV teams, and I was the leading scorer my Freshman and Sophomore seasons. I play travel with the Chicago Edge, a club I have been with over the last 10 years. As a member of this team, I have appreciated the opportunities they have given me to play in tournaments and the NPL league with players 1-2 years older than me.
While CAM and Striker are my primary positions and I can also play Winger as needed. I consider my strengths to be my speed, agility, foot skills, fast decision making, creativity, and ability to score. My coaches have also complimented me on my high work rate, my ability to read the game and adapt, and my willingness to put my body on the line. I have a team-first mentality, where I try to lead by example both on and off the field. I offer positive motivation to my teammates and am comfortable being a vocal leader when needed. I pride myself on being extremely coachable and I am open to all advice and criticism. I have a very strong work ethic and I am always looking for ways to advance my game.
I believe I have the skill, perseverance, and character needed to be an asset to a college organization. As you conduct your recruiting, I hope you will consider what I have to offer. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
Ryan Raihle
