I began playing soccer at the age of four. By the age of ten, I started playing on 3 v 3 teams. I have played soccer year round ever since. I have played in 3 v 3 tournaments across Indiana and Kentucky, including the southeastern championship tournament in 2012. Since my junior high didn’t have a soccer team, I volunteered as the high school team manager and practiced and trained with the team every day. I am currently a freshman and playing on the varsity and junior varsity teams. This has provided me the opportunity to have more playing time and improve my soccer skills. I am planning on playing indoor soccer and futsol this winter. My goal is to play soccer at the collegiate level while continuing my education.
Soccer has taught me many life skills including leadership, team work, and communication. As a center midfielder, I am responsible for communicating with my teammates about their positions and what’s happening around them (i.e. man on, who’s open). These skills are not only important on the soccer field, but also in the classroom and everyday life. I began my freshman year with six high school credits and a GPA of 3.94. I am currently taking honors classes and have started dual credit courses. My high school goal is to graduate with academic and technical honors. I am planning on pursuing a degree in civil engineering/architecture.
