Personal Statement
I grew up in a rural city in Nigeria. Where i come from, soccer balls are among the first gifts we get as a kid and luckily, i got one when i was a kid. Playing soccer since the age of 5 has really thought me a lot of things, one of them is; no matter how bad-looking the situation is, never give up. Even when all odds are against me. In 2018, i tried out for soccer at my high school and for some reason i did not make the team. But because of where i come from and all the experiences i have had since i was a child, i did not give up. i kept on practicing until i finally made the varsity team.
To me, soccer is not just a game, it is a lifestyle. Every time i am on the pitch it feels like i'm in paradise. The atmosphere is always soothing and overwhelming. It's like the moment i step on the pitch, all my depression and worries disappeared and i just play my game and do what i love doing best . I've been playing soccer since i was a kid and as far as i know, i am not going to stop. No matter what comes my way, i will always be faithful.
